I would like to thank one our recent customers Jim & Cyndy Traverso of Livingston NJ for sending after pics of the roof treatment. The mold and lichen removal took place 7 weeks ago. Lichen is a growth that takes the longest to dislodge after treatment. It takes patience from the customers end and faith that the process will work. There is still a smal amount of lichen still left to fall off but there has been so much positive progression that they are confident in due time the rest will come clean and their roofing shingles will be restored to like-new condition.
Moss, lichen and algae are all infections if the roof. Our approach is to treat the infection. A clean looking roof will be a by-product of correction the infection. We use a bleach-based detergent as prescribed by the roof manufacturers. We apply with a small 12 volt battery operated pump. The force comes out less than what a typical garden hose can produce. Moss will take a buit longer to release. The treatment will kill the moss at the root. We like to allow the moss to decompose and release on its own. Scrubbing or pressure washing the moss can damage the roof shingle.
