Soft-Powerwashing in New Jersey

Why is high pressure cleaning is NOT the way to clean your homes exterior?  “Soft-Washing” is the new term that many professional businesses have been focusing on.  With the advancement of new and improved biodegradable detergents no longer will your siding have to indure the abrasiveness of high pressure.  Pressurized water does nothing more than blow live mold spores around your property and allows them to re-generate into ugly stains.

Soft-Washing treats stains like a “pest” and only a 100% kill ratio will insure a lasting clean!

Make sure your contractor is using a detergent that will kill mold.  Anyone using “Green” or “Earthfriendly” detergents are basically using soaps that don’t work.  Nothing is safer and more effective than chlorination.  Chlorine is safe and a proven non-carcinogenic substance.  That is why chlorine is used in municipal drinking water and swimming pools.

The picture on the left has an area of heavy mold is prevelant in humid areas with excessive moisture where sunlight is lacking.  Using high pressure will only crop the top of the mold leaving its root system in tact.  Using a lightly chlorinated detergent to dwell on the siding will insure a 100% kill ratio.

The picture with the moldy siding was cleaned using a low pressure.  It will remain clean for an extended period of time since we achieved an absolute kill ratio on the mold. All surfaces can be soft washed.  Cement, gutters, wood, sidings such as aluminum, stucco and even Dryvit.  There are no after market coatings that will prevent mold from reoccuring.  Achieving the level of clean as seen in these pics is the best defense.  Ask your cleaning contractor if they offer discounted yearly maintainace or off-season discounts.  This way your siding can stay clean instead of waiting for it to become infested with mold.  Good luck and have a great season!
